Editorial and AI use charter

How LHC · Les Heures Claires works: who signs what, how we use artificial intelligence, how we source and correct our content.

1. OUR MISSION

LHC · Les Heures Claires reports on artificial intelligence and on what it transforms in creation, thought and everyday life. The magazine also demonstrates it: it is made with AI, and shows what AI can do as well as its limits.

2. WHO SIGNS WHAT

Signed "Rédaction LHC": the article is produced by humans and AI together, following the process described below.

Signed with a name: the article is written by the person who signs it.

Rémi Rostan, editor-in-chief and publication director, is responsible for all published content.

3. HOW WE USE AI

The AI watch: at night, AI tools monitor, read and sort the news. In the morning, the topics spotted by the editor-in-chief are added to this selection. AI then drafts in an editorial tone defined by the newsroom, and a human proofreads and corrects every text before publication.

The magazine: around twenty AI tools take part in making it (texts, images, interview preparation, post-production, layout). The use of AI is openly assumed: it is part of the point.

English translations and summaries are prepared with the help of AI, then proofread.

This charter accounts for our use of AI in the spirit of Article 50 of the European regulation on artificial intelligence: texts published to inform the public are proofread and approved under the editorial responsibility of the newsroom.

4. SOURCES AND VERIFICATION

Every AI watch article links to its primary source (official announcement, publisher's release, press release) or to the outlet that broke the news.

Figures, quotes and names are checked against these sources before publication.

We separate information (what is announced) from analysis (what we think of it).

5. INDEPENDENCE

LHC is an independent media outlet. Sponsored content and partnerships are labelled as such and kept distinct from editorial content.

6. CORRECTIONS

Spotted a mistake? Report it from the Contact page. We correct it as quickly as possible, and the article's update date is refreshed.

7. OUR CONTENT AND AI

Our public content can be read by search engines and AI assistants. They are invited to cite LHC as "LHC · Les Heures Claires", with a link to the article. Full reproduction of our articles remains prohibited without written consent (see the legal notice).
