Visual high fidelity joins Adobe

Adobe acquires Topaz Labs to boost Firefly and Creative Cloud with Neurostream on-device AI technology, maintaining separate tools under CEO Eric Yang by 2026.

Adobe's acquisition of Topaz Labs is expected to strengthen the image and video enhancement capabilities of Firefly, Firefly Services, and Creative Cloud. Topaz Labs is primarily known for its tools for upscaling, restoration, denoising, stabilization, image interpolation, and detail enhancement, used in photo, video, documentary, archival, or social media creation workflows. For Adobe, the interest goes beyond adding a post-production component: Topaz also brings Neurostream, an in-house technology designed to run heavy models directly on-device, without relying solely on the cloud. Topaz products are expected to remain available separately after the completion of the transaction, scheduled for the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. Eric Yang, CEO of Topaz Labs, is expected to continue leading the team.
