Viggle launches PINOC, a motion capture tool from a simple video
ViggleAI launches PINOC, a free AI tool extracting 3D motion capture from simple videos to export skeletal animations in FBX or GLB for Blender and Maya.
ViggleAI offers a new tool called PINOC, which automates motion capture from a video and eliminates the need for hardware installations typically required for professional mocap. The user uploads a clip in which a person performs the desired movements, and the AI extracts the corresponding skeletal animation in a few seconds, which can then be exported in .fbx or .glb format.
The resulting file can be directly imported into standard 3D production software (Blender, Maya, Unreal Engine, Unity), allowing the movement to be integrated into an existing pipeline without a conversion step. A complementary option allows users to upload a character image, photograph, or illustration, from which the AI generates a 3D model using Gaussian Splatting, a recent volumetric rendering technique. The extracted movement can then be previewed applied to this model, without requiring a manual rigging step.
PINOC is available for free at launch, with an extended free period announced. On 𝕏, ViggleAI is accompanying the launch with a call for users to test the tool, report bugs, and provide use cases, presenting this first version as a starting point open to community feedback.
