Video editing gets an AI assistant with Invideo

Invideo Editor combines a multitrack timeline with an AI assistant that can review footage, handle multicam edits, search for shots and export projects to Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.

Invideo Editor brings an AI assistant directly into a multitrack timeline. The concept goes beyond simple text-driven editing: the assistant reviews the footage, identifies people, actions and different takes, then handles a series of editing tasks while keeping every element manually editable.

From raw footage, with or without a script, it can create a first cut, select takes, remove flubs and silences, and separate audio from video. Multicam editing syncs multiple sources using the camera with the best audio as the anchor, then switches angles depending on who is speaking. Natural-language search can also locate specific moments across hours of footage based on a person, action, object or type of shot.

Another feature lets editors use an existing video as a reference for pacing, structure or editing choices. Missing shots can be searched for in integrated stock libraries or generated directly inside the editor. Multilingual dubbing with lip sync is also included.

Invideo is not limiting the product to its AI assistant. The interface retains an editable timeline and adds more traditional tools for editing, color grading and audio mixing. These include keyframes with custom Bezier curves, LUTs, waveform monitoring, a multitrack mixer, effects, transitions and version control for creating different branches of the same project.

More than 200 video, image and audio models are accessible from the same environment, alongside libraries from iStock, Shutterstock, Storyblocks and other providers. Agent Two can also operate within the project to generate and assemble a video before it reaches the timeline.

Collaboration features include frame-accurate reviews, shareable comments and the ability to ask the assistant to apply certain feedback directly. Projects can then be exported as editable files for Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve, with cuts and layers preserved.

The manual editor is free, with no stated limit on projects or footage. The AI assistant and generative models use credits. Current documentation specifies that exports themselves do not consume credits. Team collaboration features are available through Team and Enterprise plans.
