Topaz Labs is officially under Adobe ownership
Three months after announcing the deal, Adobe has completed its acquisition of Topaz Labs. The brand and its standalone applications will remain, while its image and video enhancement models are set to expand across more Creative Cloud workflows.
The acquisition is now complete
The deal was already known. It is now closed. Adobe has completed its acquisition of Topaz Labs, three months after announcing plans to acquire the AI image and video enhancement company.
Topaz will not disappear into Creative Cloud. Its brand will remain, and its apps and models will continue to be offered as standalone products. CEO Eric Yang is joining Adobe's Digital Video and Audio team. Topaz models have already started moving into Adobe
Technical integration began before the acquisition closed. Topaz technology is already available in Firefly and Photoshop, while Lightroom has integrated Noise-Aware Sharpen directly into its workflow.
That presence is now expected to expand across more Creative Cloud tools. Adobe points to archival restoration, low-light footage, mobile video enhancement, large-screen finishing, and the upscaling of AI-generated video among the workflows involved.
Topaz had also been moving closer to Adobe's ecosystem before the deal. Its Expansion Update brought direct access to enhancement models inside Premiere, reducing the need to leave the editing timeline. Neurostream remains a key part of the deal
Beyond Topaz's upscaling, restoration, and denoising models, Adobe is also acquiring Neurostream, the company's technology for running complex AI models locally on compatible hardware or through Topaz's cloud infrastructure.
Topaz continued developing that layer throughout 2026. Neurostream 2, for example, delivered up to 2x faster processing for several models on Apple Silicon Macs, according to the company's published measurements.
Adobe now says it will optimize Topaz model performance across its workflows while preserving access through the company's standalone products.
The acquisition announced in June is therefore moving into its operational phase: Topaz Labs remains visible as both a brand and a product line, while its visual enhancement technology expands further into Adobe's ecosystem.
