Topaz Labs deploys Starlight Precise 2.5, a cloud model to render photorealistic AI characters in 4K

Topaz Labs launches Starlight Precise 2.5, a cloud AI model rendering photorealistic characters in 4K to eliminate plastic effects in Kling or Runway videos.

Topaz Labs launches Starlight Precise 2.5, a major update to its cloud AI model dedicated to post-processing AI-generated characters. The goal: to eliminate the characteristic plastic effect of AI videos (smooth skin, artificial textures, frozen gazes) and produce a photorealistic rendering with upscaling up to 4K. Published comparisons show significant gains on skin textures, hair, reflections on fabrics, and metallic surfaces. Details like pores, natural redness, or sheen on materials transition from a typically AI rendering to a result close to cinematic production. The model applies to the outputs of major video generation tools on the market (Kling, Runway, Luma, among others). Starlight Precise 2.5 is already available in Astra (Topaz's cloud application), as well as in HeyGen, Higgsfield, ComfyUI, and via API.
