The Claude models are taking their place in Microsoft Foundry.

Anthropic Claude Opus 4.8 and Claude Haiku 4.5 models are now available in Microsoft Foundry via an Azure-hosted offering with enterprise-grade controls.

In Microsoft Foundry, Claude models are now available through an Azure-hosted offering, with the controls already used by IT teams: Azure authentication, billing, governance, network, and processing zone selection, including a US data zone for residency requirements. Anthropic states it performs inference and acts as a data processor.

To start, Claude Opus 4.8 and Claude Haiku 4.5 are accessible via the Messages API, with prompt caching and extended thinking for code, agent, and complex reasoning use cases. Eligible Azure customers can also apply Claude usage against their Microsoft Azure commitment.

Two paths coexist: an Azure-hosted version for enterprise environments, and an Anthropic-hosted version when certain API functions or models are not yet available on the Azure side.
