Runway adds 'Recipes' to its API, out-of-the-box endpoints

Runway updates its API with Recipes, pre-assembled endpoints that package prompting and workflow orchestration to embed media generation in a single call.

Runway is enhancing its API with "Recipes": pre-assembled endpoints that integrate its own expertise in prompting and workflow orchestration. The idea is to embed a media generation function directly into one's platform, with a single call, without having to build or maintain the pipeline oneself.

Specifically, where one previously had to write prompts, chain multiple calls, and manage quality step-by-step, a Recipe does all of that behind a single entry point, designed to run at scale. Runway cites two examples: producing a product ad from a simple image, or replacing a product in an existing video, with the rest of the list yet to come.

This logic marks a shift in the API: from simple calls to raw models, it transitions to packaged, production-ready functions, whose quality Runway claims and whose maintenance it assumes.
