NVIDIA's RTX Video Frame Generation multiplies AI video frame rates in real time via ComfyUI and Python, smoothing choppy sequences by up to four times.
NVIDIA is completing its RTX Spark arsenal with an effect called RTX Video Frame Generation, which multiplies a video's frame rate in real time: according to NVIDIA, it can double, or even quadruple, the number of frames per second.
The target is familiar to anyone generating AI video: these models often deliver choppy sequences, around fifteen to twenty frames per second. The effect serves to smooth them out, by interpolating intermediate frames to achieve smooth playback. The working logic consists of two steps: quickly producing a video at a low frame rate, then raising it to a comfortable frame rate.
Regarding integration, RTX Video Frame Generation arrives as a ComfyUI node and a Python wheel, which integrates it directly into existing workflows. Its availability is planned for this fall, at the same time as RTX Spark.
