Perplexity integrates its Computer agent into Microsoft 365, enabling Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to automate tasks using secure enterprise data.

Perplexity introduces its Computer agent to the Microsoft 365 suite, namely Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The assistant resides in a side panel of each application and operates contextually within it, self-distributing tasks among multiple models and retrieving information from other tools.

Specifically, it drafts and revises documents in Word, with a preview of corrections before approval, similar to track changes. In Excel, it reads, writes, and reasons on a spreadsheet by injecting data from the web or connected sources into it. In PowerPoint, it produces or rewrites slides from a document, a workbook, a query, or an existing presentation, for a selection or the entire slideshow. In Outlook, it composes and reformulates messages by leveraging exchange history and attachments, and prepares meeting notes. The tool was already available in Teams and SharePoint.

In terms of integrations, Computer connects to, among others, SharePoint, OneDrive, Salesforce, Snowflake, or FactSet, and can draw from proprietary enterprise data sources. The vendor specifies that customer data is not used to train the models and remains within the tenant's scope. Access is included in the Pro, Max, Enterprise Pro, and Enterprise Max plans.
