Perplexity launches Computer for Professional Finance, an AI agent with 35 workflows connecting Morningstar, PitchBook, and Excel for enterprise clients.

Perplexity is extending Computer, its general-purpose agent launched in February 2026, with a specialized version for financial teams (analysts, equity research, private equity). The tool leverages the digital worker mechanism, which breaks down a request into sub-tasks, utilizes multiple models in parallel, and works asynchronously, adapting it to the sector's traceability and compliance requirements.

Regarding data, Computer for Professional Finance allows companies to connect their existing subscriptions to Morningstar, PitchBook, Daloopa, and Carbon Arc, and natively includes over forty sources without additional licensing (market data, SEC filings, earnings call transcripts, analyst ratings, FactSet). Each generated figure remains linked to its original source, accessible via a direct link to the corresponding filing, transcript, or market page.

Thirty-five pre-built workflows cover recurring desk tasks: drafting company tearsheets, analyzing stock drivers, equity research comparisons, sourcing screens, and stock charts annotated with key events (earnings, product launches, market movements). Each remains customizable, shareable, and programmable to execute automatically.

Computer also integrates with Excel via a beta sidebar panel, which allows users to query the agent without leaving their models. The Professional Finance version primarily targets Enterprise clients, whose deployment is currently underway, while the general-purpose version of Computer remains accessible to Perplexity Max subscribers.
