Manus enhances Browser Operator with a feature called Preferred Browser, which allows designating an authorized Chrome browser as the default environment for all web automation tasks performed by the agent. The goal is to stabilize access to online tools whose usage depends on both the browser and the URL: already logged-in sessions, installed extensions, granted permissions, and pre-configured network access.

Specifically, the user installs the Manus Browser Operator Chrome extension on their chosen machine (main workstation, dedicated station, or secondary computer left online), authorizes this browser, then defines it as the preferred device in the My Browser settings. Once this configuration is set up, the agent prioritizes opening this Chrome session to perform its tasks, even when a request is initiated from another computer connected to the same Manus account.

This logic allows for centralizing the configuration of the work environment: analytics dashboards, support queues, internal tools, or vendor portals remain grouped on a single machine, without having to replicate connections elsewhere. The agent can thus browse from the configured workstation while the user continues their work on another device.

A fallback mechanism is provided: if the preferred browser is offline, Manus reverts to another available authorized browser. The feature is being progressively rolled out, with availability varying by account and rollout status.
