LTX and Asteria are partnering on AI video in film production

Asteria and LTX partner to integrate the LTX-2.3 open-weights AI model into professional film pipelines, a workflow tested on the short film ChikaBOOM!

Production studio Asteria and LTX, a publisher of open-weights video generation models, are formalizing a collaboration aimed at integrating generative video into professional film pipelines. The partnership is based on LTX-2.3, the company's open-weights model, which teams can run locally to train and fine-tune it on specific intellectual properties, without transferring it to a third-party service.

This approach is already documented in ChikaBOOM!, an animated short film selected for the Tribeca Film Festival, where Asteria utilized an IC-LoRA HDR developed by LTX to combine 2D drawing, CGI, and generated animation, with 16-bit HDR shot upscaling suitable for festival projection.

LTX claims over 10 million downloads for LTX-2 since its release on Hugging Face earlier this year, a model it presents as the most widely used open-weights model in the industry. The joint roadmap includes co-developed workflows, custom model training, and joint productions, with AI remaining framed as a complement to traditional methods rather than a substitute.
