Krea is making its first image foundation model, Krea 2, available via API. Trained from scratch, Krea 2 is designed to provide control over the rendering and artistic direction of every visual. Access is provided through partners Fal, ComfyUI, and Runware, with documented support for Claude, OpenClaw, and Codex, and initial availability via Nous Research and its Hermes model. The model emphasizes aesthetic diversity, capable of maintaining expressive or niche styles where others tend to homogenize everything. It also incorporates a style transfer system that the publisher presents as the most advanced on the market, using one or more reference images. Creativity here becomes an adjustable parameter, from "raw," with no prompt extension, to "high," which allows the model to freely interpret style and ambiance, while an entire moodboard can serve as a visual compass. Two variants coexist: Medium, faster and more economical, well-suited for illustration, anime, and painting; Large, more than twice as resource-intensive, with a raw and textured rendering, tailored for photorealism and grain or blur effects. Regarding pricing, text-to-image starts at $0.030 on Medium and $0.060 on Large, with style references and moodboards slightly increasing the cost, but with no additional charge when combined.
