Kimi Work, Moonshot's office AI agent orchestrating 300 sub-agents

Moonshot AI launches Kimi Work, an AI agent running 300 sub-agents on macOS and Windows to automate complex tasks for finance and research professionals.

With Kimi Work, Moonshot AI (the Chinese publisher of the Kimi chatbot) installs an AI agent directly on the user's machine. The tool targets knowledge-based professions, with finance and research at the forefront, and relies on its in-house agent swarm: up to 300 sub-agents run in parallel, decompose a complex task, and execute it over sequences up to 4,000 steps, in line with the Kimi K2.6 model (April).

Several building blocks complete the package. An extension, WebBridge, allows the agent to control the user's browser like a human would: searching, scrolling, clicking, typing, and executing tasks. The finance component relies on native data tool calls, without API configuration, with Yahoo Finance for markets, the World Bank for economics, and Binance for crypto, with other sources announced. A memory system also maintains a log of preferences, past decisions, and context, and deliverables are produced ready-to-use in PPTX, Word, PDF, or Excel, placed on the desktop.
