Kimi Work gains an autonomous Goal Mode and an office Plugin Center

Moonshot AI updates Kimi Work on Mac and Windows with an autonomous Goal Mode running up to 24 hours and a Plugin Center connecting to Notion and Canva.

Kimi Work, Moonshot AI's desktop AI agent still in beta on Mac and Windows, reaches a milestone with two additions: a Goal Mode and a Plugin Center.

Goal Mode shifts the agent from a step-by-step logic to an objective-driven logic. Instead of executing a one-off instruction, it is given a destination, success criteria, and limits, and it works autonomously, comparing the current state to the target goal at each cycle. Kimi intends it for long tasks with uncertain paths that require multiple attempts, and states it is capable of running continuously, for up to twenty-four hours, during a meeting or overnight. With each iteration, the agent assesses whether the objective is achieved, blocked, paused, or to be continued, all while remaining observable and interruptible.

The Plugin Center, for its part, opens up connection to desktop software via simple slash commands. Beyond the core business functionalities already integrated in finance and law, it connects to tools like Notion, Canva, WPS, Feishu, DingTalk, or Baidu Netdisk, leveraging MCP and OAuth, which transforms Kimi Work from a conversational tool into an agent that controls these applications. This entire system builds upon a foundation that boasts up to three hundred parallel agents, browser automation, and local code and file execution.
