ICARE, a playable 3D world in the browser by World Labs

World Labs launches ICARE, a playable browser-based 3D world powered by its Marble multimodal model and Spark 2.0 real-time Gaussian splat rendering engine.

The spatial intelligence company founded by Fei-Fei Li launches ICARE, an interactive experience that plays directly in the browser, without installation or pre-rendered video. The player embodies Icarus and explores dreamlike worlds inspired by great historical visionaries, from Leonardo da Vinci to Hokusai and Frida Kahlo, where they converse with "dreamers," collect artifacts, and restore broken universes to recover their lost feathers.

Technically, the experience serves as a showcase for their in-house tool duo: Marble, the multimodal model that generates 3D environments from text, images, videos, or 360° panoramas, and Spark 2.0, the open-source rendering engine based on Three.js which streams millions of Gaussian splats in real-time in the browser. The project was produced in three months with Lore studio, and even the launch video was created by connecting Blender live to the Spark runtime. A technical deep dive is promised within the week, covering world generation, splat streaming, and gameplay systems.
