Higgsfield Reframe modifies video aspect ratios without cropping by using AI to regenerate backgrounds via its web app, Adobe plugins, or the Claude MCP.

Higgsfield Reframe modifies the aspect ratio of a video or image without cropping: instead of cropping the edges, the AI regenerates the background to keep it consistent with the original shot. The user provides a video (up to one minute) and, if needed, one to four reference images, then chooses the new format (9:16, 16:9, 1:1, 21:9, 4:3). The system keeps the main subjects intact and extends the surrounding scenery to fill the added space, taking into account lighting, style, perspective, and textures. Targeted use cases range from reformatting a podcast from 16:9 to 9:16 without cutting off speakers, to advertising and film sequences.

Reframe is accessible from Higgsfield's web interface, via Premiere Pro and After Effects plugins, and now through Claude thanks to the MCP (Model Context Protocol): once Higgsfield is connected in the settings of Claude.ai, the operation can be commanded directly within the conversation. A twin tool, Expand Image, applies the same outpainting principle to photos.

The entire suite is part of the Higgsfield platform, which brings together several video and image models (Kling, Veo, Seedance, its Soul model, Nano Banana) and cinema-oriented creative controls, positioning itself as a production studio rather than a mere generator.
