HeyGen now offers a free library of 250,000 music tracks and sound effects searchable via natural language and accessible directly from its command-line.

HeyGen provides access to a library of over 250,000 music tracks and sound effects, offered for free and searchable from its command-line interface. The system relies on semantic search: rather than a list of keywords, you describe the desired mood in natural language, from "upbeat lofi hip-hop" to "tense cinematic riser" for music, or from a transition "whoosh" to a cash register sound effect for SFX. The service returns tracks ranked by proximity to the description, each accompanied by a download link.

The tracks integrate directly into HeyGen videos or HyperFrames projects, their in-house GitHub repository, without leaving the production environment. Access is via a HeyGen API key, with parameters to switch between music and sound effects, adjust the number of results, or raise the relevance threshold. The editor already offered sound effects in its web editor; the novelty lies in the catalog's scale, the description-based search, and the CLI integration.
