HeyGen is now available on Canva

HeyGen AI Avatars is now integrated into Canva desktop, allowing 190 million users to generate AI-narrated video presentations directly from their designs.

The HeyGen app is accessible from Canva's Apps panel, where it appears under the label "HeyGen AI Avatars." Once the HeyGen account is connected, the user can transform a design (presentation, social post, training document, marketing asset) into a video where an avatar narrates a written script, or an imported audio for lip-syncing.

The selection includes the account's custom avatars, HeyGen's public library avatars, as well as the option to generate a new one from a photograph. Voice and language are customizable, and the avatar can be displayed in a rectangular frame or a circle, with an adjustable background color. The video renders directly onto the canvas, without requiring third-party software, and exports via the Share menu in MP4 format.

The integration is free, but consumes credits from the associated HeyGen account. The free plan allows for three videos per month, the Creator plan is billed at approximately 29 dollars per month, with Pro and Business tiers for teams. Consumption varies depending on the quality and duration of the generated sequences. The feature is currently limited to the desktop version of Canva; the mobile app is not supported. Canva claims 190 million monthly users.
