Granola adds Briefs, an automated meeting preparation tool for Mac, Windows, and iPhone that summarizes past notes, Gmail emails, and web search data.

Granola, the AI note-taking tool that transcribes audio directly from the computer without bringing a bot into the video conference, completes its offering with Briefs. The feature generates, upon opening a meeting note, a short summary of two or three points: the interlocutor's identity, the content of previous exchanges, and pending topics.

The preparation is done overnight, without manual settings or requests. The system draws from previous meeting notes, performs a web search, and, if the user grants access, consults recent Gmail emails. Each piece of information displayed is sourced, and the detail of the steps followed by the model remains viewable at the bottom of the brief.

The feature currently covers appointments with external participants, with internal meetings planned next. Briefs is available on Mac, Windows, and iPhone, reserved for paid Business and Enterprise subscriptions. Granola, which recently completed a $125 million Series C funding round, also maintains a limited free plan.
