Four hundred million dollars for Meshy, a generative 3D specialist

The Meshy platform secures funding to develop spatial models capable of delivering production-ready 3D assets.

Meshy, an AI-powered 3D generation platform, has closed a four-hundred-million-dollar Series B funding round. The transaction pushes its valuation past $1.38 billion and represents, according to the company, the largest funding round ever completed in generative 3D. IDG Capital, Matrix Partners China, and Monolith Management led the round, while existing shareholders, including Granite Asia, Sequoia China, BAI Capital, and Source Code Capital, oversubscribed their allocation.

The funds will go toward research on multimodal foundation models, strengthening algorithmic infrastructure, and global enterprise business development.

The product starts from a text prompt or an image to produce a textured 3D object, exportable to standard production pipeline tools and engines. The company is working on so-called spatial foundation models, which are intended to deliver directly usable assets rather than drafts requiring rework.

Beyond isolated objects, Meshy says it is aiming for experiences that users can enter, without detailing any product or timeline at this stage.
