{DevDay 2026} Library becomes Space and makes ChatGPT documents available to teams

Space replaces Library to bring pages, files, and shared work together inside ChatGPT. Multiple people can edit the same document with their own ChatGPT, while dots and Codex work from shared context. Collaborative Pages, teams, and recurring tasks extend the workspace beyond individual conversations.

Library becomes Space

A document started with ChatGPT no longer needs to leave the interface when a team gets involved. ChatGPT Space replaces Library for Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, bringing content created, uploaded, or shared in ChatGPT into one place.

A Space can group multiple Pages around a project or team. Files, presentations, and spreadsheets can become part of that shared context. Projects remain separate and continue to organize project-specific chats, files, and instructions.

The larger change is how people work on the content itself. An existing conversation can become an editable Page and continue evolving directly with ChatGPT rather than moving into another application. Multiple people, multiple ChatGPTs, one Page

Pages are documents that multiple people can edit in real time. Text, images, charts, and interactive elements can live inside the same file.

Each collaborator works with their own ChatGPT on the shared document. People can edit manually, leave comments, or mention `@ChatGPT` or `@dot` to request revisions and assign next steps.

Connected content retains its existing access rules. A linked Google Drive file, for example, keeps its original permissions. Information copied or summarized into a Page becomes visible to everyone with access to that Page.

Sharing a Page does not expose a user's private chats or personal memory. Documents that can keep changing

Pages can serve as reports, project plans, dashboards, or task lists. ChatGPT can pull information from connected tools and update their content according to defined instructions.

There is an important launch limitation. OpenAI's current documentation says the automatic "Keep updated" feature is not available at launch. Recurring updates instead rely on automations that specify what to update, which sources to use, and how often to run.

Dots work natively across files in Space. An agent reached through ChatGPT, Slack, or Microsoft Teams can therefore be asked to keep a Page current as a project changes. Collaborative presentations are next

An existing conversation will also be able to become a collaborative presentation. The planned editor supports editable text, images, and native charts, with the option to start from a team's own presentation template.

Multiple colleagues will be able to work on the same deck, leave feedback, and ask ChatGPT for revisions before presenting or exporting the result.

OpenAI's current Space page lists collaborative slides and spreadsheets as coming soon. Pages are the part of this collaborative workflow available at launch. A team becomes a sharing unit

Business and Enterprise add Teams, reusable groups of coworkers that can receive access to Pages or entire Spaces without sharing each resource person by person.

A single Team can access multiple Spaces, while a Space can include multiple Teams.

Teams can also maintain recurring work. ChatGPT can run a weekly project update or a task triggered by a supported event, while authorized members review results and update its instructions together.

Joining a Team does not automatically expose personal conversations or individual app connections. ChatGPT moves into Slack and Microsoft Teams

With `@ChatGPT`, the assistant can participate directly inside Slack and Microsoft Teams to use conversation context, prepare documents, or continue shared work.

Its access remains limited to tools approved by an administrator or authorized under the individual user's permissions. The resulting work can then move into Space, keeping documents and shared context together.

The Meetings plugin follows a similar path. Available in beta for Pro and Business users in the macOS desktop app, it creates personalized meeting notes that can be brought into a Page to update a project or prepare follow-up work.

Space is available on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans. Pages can currently be created and edited on web and desktop. Mobile supports finding, reading, and sharing Pages, while creation and editing are still to come.
