Decompose, Edit, Rebuild: The Higgsfield Layers Workflow

Higgsfield Layers introduces an AI image editor with layer decomposition, targeted text and object editing, native 4K rendering, inpainting, and relighting.

With Layers, Higgsfield brings automatic image decomposition and generative editing into a single editor. An image uploaded to or created on the platform can be separated into multiple layers, making it possible to isolate a subject, background, object, or other elements that would normally require manual masking.

Each part can then be moved, retouched, replaced, or regenerated without rebuilding the entire composition. This approach builds on technology Higgsfield already offered in Photoshop through Layer Decompose, where each extracted element is returned as an editable layer.

Layers combines this structure with several editing features already available across the Higgsfield ecosystem, including inpainting, text editing, relighting, and effects. The platform can also modify a specific area of an image, replace an object, or rewrite text while preserving the rest of the composition.

Higgsfield also highlights text rendering and generation at up to 4K. On its image platform, some integrated models already support native output up to 4096 × 4096, along with targeted editing of text and visual elements. With Layers, these capabilities are organized around a decomposed document structure rather than a sequence of separate generations.

The change is therefore less about introducing an entirely new decomposition capability and more about integrating it into a standalone workspace: starting from a flat image, turning it into a structured composition, editing each element independently, and continuing the workflow without having to regenerate the entire image.
