Perplexity launches Computer for Counsel, a new AI agent integrating with tools like LegalZoom and Docusign to automate legal research and document drafting.

With Computer for Counsel, Perplexity adapts its agent to the uses of lawyers and legal departments. The tool connects to research databases, document repositories, contract tools, and case management systems already used daily, with integrations cited as Midpage, LegalZoom, Docusign, NetDocuments, Box, OneDrive, or Google Drive.

The objective is to handle lengthy tasks such as multi-jurisdictional research, regulatory monitoring, document collection, clause extraction, or the preparation of memos and deal summaries. Each response must include verifiable sources, linked to relevant decisions, regulations, filings, or internal documents, so that legal professionals can quickly verify the information before client use. Computer for Counsel is announced for Pro and Max subscribers, with a clear focus: to shift a portion of administrative work to the agent, without removing the lawyer from the validation loop.
