Comfy Desktop: ComfyUI rebuilds its app, multiple instances, and rollback
Comfy Desktop, ComfyUI's rebuilt desktop app, introduces multiple instances, automatic snapshots for one-click rollback, and day-0 updates.
Comfy Desktop, ComfyUI's desktop application, is undergoing a complete overhaul: same name, but an entirely rewritten app. Existing workflows, custom nodes, models, and settings are carried over as is, without any manipulation.
A key new feature is that multiple ComfyUI instances coexist within a single application, each with its own custom nodes and version, with switching between them remaining centralized. The app also takes an automatic snapshot before each update and every custom node change, with one-click rollback in case of breakage. Finally, updates are now day-0: as soon as a version, including nightlies, appears on the official repository, it installs immediately.
The rest remains unchanged: Comfy Desktop remains free and open source (GPL-3.0), runs locally on the user's machine, and users still on the old application will automatically see an invitation to migrate.
