Claude Code and Cowork Sessions Are Now Covered by the Compliance API
Claude Enterprise’s Compliance API now covers Cowork and Claude Code, centralizing transcripts, tool activity, and metadata for audits.
The Compliance API now covers Claude Cowork sessions across desktop, web, and mobile, as well as Claude Code in the CLI and desktop app. Compliance and security teams can therefore retrieve this activity through the same interface already used for Claude conversations.
Each session is consolidated into a server-hosted transcript that brings together prompts, responses, and tool activity. Content from web and MCP tool calls, along with skills and artifacts, can also be included as transcript text.
Associated metadata includes the user’s verified identity and email address, organization ID, session and message IDs, and timestamps. The goal is to provide a common access point for audits and eDiscovery without requiring companies to build separate logging infrastructure for each surface.
This expansion remains in beta for Claude Enterprise customers. It does not cover Claude Code on the web, usage through the Claude Platform, or sessions running on Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or Microsoft Foundry.
Organizations already exporting data through OpenTelemetry can continue doing so in parallel. For existing Compliance API users, the new endpoints are added to the current setup without requiring a separate integration or a new access key.
