CapCut Design Studio 2.0 introduces an infinite canvas and an AI agent for free, multi-step image generation and editing at capcut.com.

CapCut overhauls its web design studio with a 2.0 version available at capcut.com. The tool moves away from a template-based logic in favor of an infinite canvas, conceived as a unique workspace where references, drafts, iterations, and resources coexist. Elements can be freely moved, layered, and remixed without ever leaving the environment.

The studio relies on a real-time AI design agent, with which users can directly interact to generate, modify, or extend an idea. Pencil prompting enables editing by drawing or circling areas on the image, acting as a visual instruction. Automatic segmentation separates subjects, backgrounds, texts, and objects to rework them separately, while a "One More" button relaunches a generation to explore other options from the existing design. An in-house library and royalty-free images are integrated into the workflow.

The process is structured in three steps within the same space: reference selection, agent-assisted creation, and then fine-tuning via tools and layers. The demonstration starts with a green fur garment developed into a complete outfit, then into a fashion poster with text and automatic translations.

Access is free with a limit of twenty generations per day. CapCut is also organizing a creative contest on Contra around the theme "Reimagine CapCut", with cash prizes.
