ByteDance adds Seedance 2.0 Mini, a faster and cheaper video tier

ByteDance launches Seedance 2.0 Mini on Dreamina and CapCut, a video AI model that is 30% cheaper and twice as fast as the Seedance 2.0 Fast tier.

A lightweight tier joins ByteDance's Seedance 2.0 family: named Seedance 2.0 Mini, it is available on the Dreamina platform and in the CapCut app. The stated goal focuses on the speed-cost ratio. According to CapCut, the model costs approximately 30% less than Seedance 2.0 and generates twice as fast as Seedance 2.0 Fast, for a quality presented as comparable to the latter.

Its capabilities adopt the range's multi-shot approach, where a request is processed as a cinematic sequence: camera movement control, character consistency from shot to shot, and support for multimodal references in image, video, and audio, for renders up to 1080p on five to twelve-second clips.

A launch offer accompanies the release. For a limited period running until July 22nd, Pro subscribers benefit from 33% less credit consumption in 720p, while the Pro subscription is offered up to 60% cheaper via the app, resulting in a final cost announced up to 55% below that of Seedance 2.0. The deployment covers all CapCut tools, from mobile to desktop, as well as the web, where the Design Studio now hosts motion design via video templates.
