Anthropic opens a Seoul office led by KiYoung Choi as NAVER, Nexon, Samsung SDS, and LG CNS deploy Claude and Claude Code across South Korea.

Anthropic is establishing an office in Seoul, now open and recruiting, led by KiYoung Choi, who oversees its operations in Korea. The opening is accompanied by a series of partnerships established across the local ecosystem, encompassing businesses, startups, and research.

In terms of development, Anthropic states that NAVER has rolled out Claude Code across its entire engineering organization, encompassing thousands of engineers, and that game studio Nexon uses it to write and deliver code for its online titles. Several major corporations are following suit: LG CNS is making Claude available to thousands of employees and intends to extend it to the entire LG group, Hanwha Solutions is providing access to its teams via AWS Bedrock to satisfy its data residency requirements, and Samsung SDS is equipping Samsung Electronics employees with Claude, including Claude Cowork and Claude Code. Among startups, Channel Corp is leveraging Claude for its Channel Talk platform.

The initiative extends beyond the private sector. Anthropic will provide access to Claude to approximately sixty researchers from the National AI Research Lab, a consortium comprising KAIST, Korea University, Yonsei, and POSTECH, for model safety and evaluation, while the NGO Good Neighbors Korea is utilizing it to streamline its administrative tasks. The company also ranks Korea among the dozen countries where Claude.ai is most utilized.
