Anthropic highlights the Cardputer micro-projects

Anthropic showcased four Cardputer micro-projects built with Claude at its Code with Claude event, highlighting rapid programming on M5Stack hardware.

At its Code with Claude event, hosted at the Maker Station, Anthropic provided each participant with a Cardputer, the small handheld computer developed by M5Stack and equipped with a miniature QWERTY keyboard, a color screen, a built-in speaker, and a standalone battery. The instruction was simple: use Claude to code, in a short amount of time, a program leveraging one of the device's physical features.

The company shared on 𝕏 four projects from this session. Magic Wand transforms the Cardputer into a gesture-controlled remote: a shaking motion switches the interface from light mode to dark mode. Hazy Daisy, designed by a developer for his daughter, offers a spelling and reading game where the child types the words displayed on the screen. Tilt utilizes the accelerometer: a red ball moves through a maze displayed on the screen and reacts in real-time to the device's tilt. Synthesizer finally converts the Cardputer into a mini-synthesizer, with a colorful virtual keyboard, several instrument banks (piano, drums, bass, guitar, flute), and sound output via the built-in speaker.

This initiative illustrates Claude's positioning for rapid programming targeting accessible hardware, with a mixed audience composed of developers and hobbyists who built their prototypes on-site.
