Adobe integrates a productivity agent into Acrobat and transforms the PDF into an interactive experience.
Adobe integrates a productivity agent into Acrobat to generate content, edit PDFs conversationally, and transform static files into interactive PDF Spaces.
Adobe expands its agentic ecosystem with a productivity agent integrated into Acrobat, which orchestrates in-house tools and models to generate images, texts, presentations, podcasts, and social posts from a document. The agent also enables conversational PDF editing and powers PDF Spaces, a workspace where the user aggregates files, links, and notes to produce an analysis, a summary, or a deliverable.
The most notable shift concerns sharing. Adobe claims 400 billion PDFs opened and 200 million sent annually via Acrobat, and now offers to transform a static send into a personalized experience. The recipient receives a space where the agent has generated a title, summary, and audio summary, where the sender can add context, hierarchy, and multimedia elements, and where an AI assistant, configured to the desired tone and intent, answers the reader's questions. Documents updated on the sender's side are automatically reflected on the recipient's side, and the sender has engagement data to guide their follow-ups.
The publisher positions this productivity agent as the information-oriented counterpart to its creative agent: one produces content, the other analyzes, orchestrates, and disseminates it. Adobe cites several early adopters, including VICE News to support its reports with raw sources, Kid Cudi to enrich his podcast Big Bro, journalist Jessica Yellin to flesh out the context of topics covered on News Not Noise, and event planner Mindy Weiss to disseminate her methods to her community.
Regarding availability, the agent and new sharing features are coming to Acrobat Studio, the most comprehensive plan, as well as Acrobat Express, a new offering that combines document insights, premium generation, and publishing. Viewing a PDF Space does not require an Adobe account.
