A Dashboard for tracking Claude spending
Claude Enterprise adds controls by team, model, and user, with spending caps, usage analytics, and API-based reporting.
Claude Enterprise administrators now have a set of controls for tracking spending by user, team, and model, then gradually restricting access as needed. Anthropic recommends monitoring an initial usage cycle before setting caps for the entire organization, specific groups, or individual members.
Access controls allow Claude Code and Claude Cowork to be limited to designated teams and roles. Administrators can also choose which models each group can access, set the default model for new conversations, and automate the review of requests for higher spending limits.
Usage data is available in the admin dashboard and can be exported to financial or business intelligence tools through a dedicated API. A conversational interface also allows administrators to query the data in natural language, for example to identify the highest spenders or the teams whose usage is growing most rapidly.
For applications built on the Claude Platform, Workspaces separate usage by product, team, or environment. Prompt caching can reduce the cost of repeated input to 10% of the standard rate, while batch processing charges half price for tasks that do not require an immediate response.
Anthropic also recommends matching the model and reasoning effort to the complexity of each task. A smaller model can handle routine workloads and consult a more advanced model only when needed through the Advisor tool, rather than relying on the most expensive configuration for every request.
